QM Dance Company was born from the heart of Quinn Morriss, an educator dedicated to supporting children both in and out of the studio.

Quinn’s journey in dance has allowed her to experience the studio from many perspectives as a dancer, a teacher, a choreographer, and a student. She has trained extensively across a wide range of dance styles and continues to pursue professional development and education in the dance industry.

Her experience extends beyond dance. Quinn is a certified gymnastics coach, has completed extensive training in acrobatics and dance, and holds certifications and professional development in areas including ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, modern, conditioning, choreography, dance education, and dancer wellness. She has also had the opportunity to learn from and work alongside respected choreographers and educators throughout her training.

Alongside her professional dance and teaching experience, Quinn is a fourth-year university student studying Youth and Children’s Studies, with plans to become a teacher. Her years as both a student and educator have taught her that understanding how children learn is just as important as understanding what you are teaching.

Through years of training, teaching, observing, and studying children, Quinn has developed a simple belief:

 

“The best teachers don’t teach the way they want to teach. They teach the way their students need to be taught.”

This philosophy is at the heart of QM. Every dancer learns differently, and Quinn believes great teaching means being willing to listen, adapt, and find what helps each individual child succeed.

At QM, we believe dance can do so much more than teach steps. It can help children build confidence, resilience, creativity, independence, and a lifelong love of movement.

We’re not just teaching dancers. We’re helping children discover who they are and what they’re capable of.
